Wednesdays | 17 | + Black Sheep Cafe

First things first! I NEED to show you some photos from girls night last week with my mama and sister. We went out to eat at a local Southwestern Native American restaurant called Black Sheep Cafe in Provo. It was my mom’s last night in town and so we wanted to make sure it was a great one complete with yummy food 🙂 It was late at night when we ate & the restaurant lighting left a little to be desired, so the photos aren’t too too great. BUT trust me when I say that it was both beautiful & scrumptious in person!

^^ Um, how cool is that?! ^^

^^ My sister, Mariah, & my mama! Aren’t they so pretty? As always, I’m the one behind the camera 🙂 ^^

^^ These are their green chili frites. Lord, have mercy, these were some of the best fries/frites I have ever had in my life. The fried egg MADE IT. And the cheese. And the green chili. ^^

^^ I ordered the buffalo nickel burger, which has lemon-rosemary mayo, jack cheese, grilled onions, arugula, tomatoes, a cabernet sauvignon reduction, and a buffalo patty, all squished between a hearty pretzel bun, plus a side of MORE fries, but these ones were rosemary cotija. Yeah. EVERY BIT as good as it sounds. ^^

^^ Mariah got their famous chimichanga, which has braised pork, red chile sauce, cheddar & jack cheese, olives, avocados, tomatoes, rice, beans…and lots of other things. This thing was GIGANTIC. And so delicious. ^^

^^ My mom got one of their specials that night, which was scallops swimming in a chardonnay cream sauce + shaved brussels sprouts. The scallops were cooked to tender perfection, and although the sauce was a bit spicy, it was super good. ^^

Okay! Back to our regular programming 🙂

Ok first of all— that post on marriage by Bev and her husband is one of the cutest things I’ve read all week! So honest and light hearted— and totally true (though I guess I can’t say that cuz I’m not married quite yet haha). Thanks so much for sharing that! And you’ll have to let me know if you try the toasted coconut cookies— I think I’m going to make another batch this weekend too. Gahhh SO good!
