I made this sweet potato pie smoothie the other day on a whim because I was craving something cold & sweet (it has been boiling hot in New England aaaaack) and it hit. the. spot!! I loved it so very much I knew I had to share the recipe with you guys ASAP. Typically I don’t share smoothie recipes on my blog because I don’t measure the ingredients very often and also because my smoothies tend to be kind of low sugar & nutrient-dense (read: not super appetizing??? haha) and I don’t know that very many people would enjoy them like I do. Ha! (You can check out this post if you want to know more about how I build my everyday smoothies.) But this one?? It’s like a slice of pumpkin (or sweet potato) pie in a glass. It’s cool and creamy and perfectly spiced and you will LOVE it – especially if your part of the world (like mine) hasn’t quiiiite figured out that it’s fall yet 😅
I poured my smoothie into a bowl because it’s decently thick and topped it with some of my favorite crunchy things – cacao nibs, coconut flakes, & granola – but you can also just pour it into a glass and have it that way, too! This smoothie perfect for those times when you want to treat yourself with something sweet but still nourishing. Ya feel me??

- 1½ c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 heaping cup frozen (steamed or roasted - not raw) sweet potato cubes
- 1 frozen banana
- ½ t pumpkin pie spice
- ½-1 serving vanilla protein powder (I use the plant-based one by Aloha)
- 1 t maca, optional
- Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
