Hellloooooo. It’s FRIDAY! Yes! We made it. I’m so excited. Not only because it’s Friday, but ALSO because we’re starting a new thing around here called FRIDAY FAVORITES. Original, right? We’ll chat about random things, share some low quality iPhone images, and inevitably, there will be food.
FIRST THINGS FIRST (I’m the realest)…I started this thing called the #TFWCookieChallenge. I know, I know, if you follow me on Instagram, this is oooold news. But basically, every Friday from now until forever I am going to be making a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s for fun! (Nacho Libre style.) There are so so so many CCC recipes out there & I’m on a quest to try as many as I can! Some traditional, some not so traditional – but all chocolate chip cookies in some form or fashion. I just hope that by making cookies together every week it can be a reminder that sugar isn’t evil and a little dessert never hurt nobody – ya know? And also that chocolate chip cookies are literally the best treat in the world. Right out of the oven, still warm, slightly gooey? Uuuuggghhhhh. Yes. A LOT OF PEOPLE have asked me what my favorite, go-to recipe for just a good classic cookie is so far and I’d have to say either Tara O’Brady’s or Sarah Kieffer’s. Anyway, I always share pictures & a “review” on my Instagram, so watch for that every Friday 😎
Obsessing over: THIS CANDLE. I love all of the candles by Mrs. Meyers, and this one is so CHRISTMASY!!! It literally smells like candy canes. I’m so obsessed. They’re on sale at Whole Foods right now!
It’s kind of late to be talking about Halloween but…I tried the new peanut butter snickers square mini bar thing that we got in our pack of Halloween candy to hand out to nonexistent trick or treaters (so……ourselves) and WHAT. It literally tastes like a tagalong girl scout cookie, but like, in fun-size Snickers bar form. Kind of obsessed. And it’s kind of a problem. I’m thinking of trying to “recreate” it in a healthier way? Like with peanut butter stuffed dates covered in chocolate?
I’ve been super into podcasts lately (but then again….I feel like everyone is right now??) and I can’t get enough of Awesome with Alison. Alison and her husband, Eric, are so inspiring and HILARIOUS. This podcast literally turns my mood right around when I’m having a bad or discouraging day. I hiiiiighly recommend it!
Oh – we need to talk about the pictures! Mike’s Pastry!! We finally went! I’ve had a cannoli before and wasn’t a huge fan, so I was hesitant to buy one…but I mean, cannolis are what they’re famous for so I had to. And holy moly! We got the florentine cannoli and it was seriously, mind-boggingly good. Super sweet, but I mean, that’s to be expected, right?? Definitely a MUST GET. I was so overwhelmed by how many pastries there are at Mike’s….like probably literally over 100. It’s going to take a long time to try them all! Haha. We were so lucky to come at a time when there wasn’t even a line, which is so so rare! We were just meant to eat a cannoli that day I guess 😉
Kinda have a bone to pick with big cities and how there are no changing tables in any of the bathrooms. It makes changing baby diapers super difficult in public places. Definitely changed Sophie’s diaper on the floor of the bathroom in Sweetgreen yesterday and was noooot super happy about it. Blerg.
Alsoooooo TV. Netflix. Stranger Things!!!!!!!!!! We binge watched both seasons in one week and got far too little sleep but it was so worth it. I know everyone is all TEAM JONATHAN but I kinda really want Nancy & Steve to be together. Ahh what do you think?? Other notable mention: This Is Us. I mean, OBVIOUSLY. That show kills me and I’m obsessed with it all at the same time. Thoughts on the latest episode: Kevin is ruining his life uuuuggghhhh.
Well, we are partying with my mom and sister for the next few days and, of course, are going to eat all the food! Hope you have the greatest weekend & we’ll see ya on Monday!
